Walther has added a new gun to their CCP line, the CCP M2 in .380. The CCP, or concealed carry pistol, is Walther’s foremost carry gun and it touts an easy racking slide and reduced recoil. True Pearce spoke with Walther’s rep at the range during SHOT Show 2020 for the full details and to shoot it.
This gun is just 1.18″ wide with a 3.54″ barrel. It’ll hold 8 rounds in a single-stack magazine and its trigger weighs in at just 5.5lbs.
The standout feature of this pistol is its piston-driven action. The piston sits under the barrel and uses the gases from each shot to cycle the next round into battery.
Some might say it’d be a good gun for those with low grip strength, but its innate ability to stay on target should make it attractive to any shooter. True shot the .380 model, but Walther also makes a CCP M2 in 9mm.
Its frame is made of black polymer and the stainless steel slide comes in black or stainless. The thumb safety is only on the left, but the magazine release is can be swapped to either side. It has serrations at the front and rear of the slide, an undercut and textured trigger guard, and a pic rail. The rear sight stands at right angles for creative racking.
Walther’s CCP M2 .380 is shipping now and the MSRP is $469.
