'Snowflake' Removal with Less-Lethal Pepperball Pistol - SHOT Show 2018

The Tactical Compact Pistol from Pepperball.

Deadly force is not always necessary.  Sometimes one needs to subdue a potential threat or de-escalate a situation with less-lethal force.  Enter Pepperball.  A trusted source for restoring law and order for nearly two decades.

AT SHOT Show we got a chance to view two newer products.  The Tactical Compact Pistol (TCP) and the Flashlauncher.

Tactical Compact Pistol

The Tactical Compact Pistol or TCP is a magazine-fed, CO2-powered, semiauto tool that fires Pepperballs.  It is specifically designed for law enforcement, military and corrections.  In other words, not for the average joe.  Sadly.

In the hand. There is zero recoil on the TCP.

Features

  • Compact, ultra-light weight that fits comfortably on standard duty belt
  • Molded duty holster included
  • Semi-auto action
  • Fires 6 round projectiles or VXR-shaped projectiles
  • Round projectiles accurate to 65 ft./20 meters
  • VXR-shaped projectiles accurate to 150 ft./50 meters
  • Ambidextrous cross safety pin
  • Under mount rail (for mounting light/laser)
  • Designed for use with CO2 or nitrogen

The TCP is badass.  It’s a blast to shoot.  Because it’s CO2/Nitrogen operated, there is zero recoil.  It was more accurate than I expected it.  Especially when shooting those VXR projectiles, aka bullet-shaped pepperballs.  They made a substantial difference.  I was easily able to hit headshots from 15 yards out (or thereabouts).

Comes in multiple colors. Including black, yellow, orange and LAPD green.

I think this will be a hit with the LEO market.  Available in plain black, yellow, orange and LAPD green.  Price point for the TCP should be under $400.

Flashlauncher

Not a law enforcement officer or a government agent?  No worries.  Pepperball has something for us common folk too.  It’s the “Flashlauncher.”  A flashlight, laser, and Pepperball launcher all in one unit.

Like the pistol, it’s a semiauto firing system. It has a capacity of five balls.  To operate, the user needs to point.  Aim.  Push the button and put a ball on target.  Not only does the aggressor get the kinetic wallop of the projectile, they get smoked with the irritant as well.  It’s bound to take the fight right out of that jackal.

The Flashlauncher. Another tool to add to your arsenal.

Features

  • Combines a flashlight and PepperBall launcher into a single device.
  • Semi-automatic firing system.
  • Bright 180-lumen flashlight.
  • Integrated laser sight for rapid target acquisition.
  • Optional rechargeable battery & charger available.

There are some restrictions on owning the Flashlauncher.  It’s not a 50-state legal device.  California, New York, Colorado, and Minnesota all prohibit it as of now.  But that may change.
