STI Gets New Name and New Pistols from Staccato 2011 – SHOT 2020

in Jeff Cramblit, SHOT Show 2020

Welcome to the new Staccato 2011, for years we knew this company as STI Firearms, now, breaking with the old name and changing the product line up, it’s out with the old and in with the new.

Shorter grip makes C2 a fantastic size for a carry gun

No longer are they offering USPSA Open division race guns, choosing to focus more on tactical and practical pistols, several of which can still be used for USPSA Limited, Single Stack and Limited 10 divisions.

The Staccato C2 (Carry Double Stack) Duo has a 3.9” barrel with a red dot and co-witnessed iron sights, featuring a fiber optic front. This model is about the same size as Glock 19, though it comes with the legendary 1911 style trigger set at 4lbs and the flush magazine holding 16 rounds. The C model can be had as a single stack as well making for a thinner carry option.US

Staccato P Duo is very similar to the model adopted by US Marshals Special Operations Group

The Staccato P Duo has a 4.4” barrel making it about the size of a Glock 17 and comes with the Tactical Duo sight system, however, each model is available with standard adjustable rear sights and fiber optic fronts. The P model also has a full-sized grip and holds 17+1 with the flush magazine and 20+1 with the slightly extended.

All the Staccato models now feature the gen 2 grip which is textured where it’s needed, and slick/ rounded just where it needs to be, such as the relieved corner going into the trigger. The contour of the grip is outstanding, though I would prefer a slightly more aggressive texture. The Staccato C2 with standard sights costs $1999, while the C2 Duo and P Duo have an MSRP of $2499.

Well contoured polymer lower compliments the 5″ 1911 style upper and features

The Staccato R is the other stand out of the new pistols. It is a polymer framed single stack 5” bushing gun that has just been approved by USPSA for use in Single Stack division competition. The R is available in either 9mm or 45 acp, has a nicely flared factory magwell, a 4 lb trigger and retails for $1999.
