Springfield XD(M)

The Springfield XD(M) 5.25 is the match grade version of the XD with several enhancements that make it an ideal competition gun. It has all the standard features of the XD series with a longer slide and barrel to provide a bigger site radius which improves accuracy and reliability.

The polymer frame has several enhancements that make it more versatile and easier to control. As with all the Springfield pistols, it has the same grip angle as a 1911. There is a grip safety, trigger safety, and firing pin block that provide extra peace of mind. It comes with three interchangeable backstraps so it can be fitted to any size hand as well as three 19-round 9mm magazines. There is a large Picatinny rail for accessories and an enlarged ambidextrous magazine release for quick, positive mag changes. The slide lock is also enlarged for easier operation.

The trigger has been improved with a crisp release and shortened reset. Coupled with the fully adjustable steel rear sight and fiber optic front sight, target acquisition is fast and certain. There are extra fiber optic rods for the front sight that come in green and red to match the shooting conditions.

The slide and hammer-forged, match-grade barrel are coated with Melonite, a treatment that makes them durable and nearly maintenance free. The XD(M) has faster cycling times thanks to the lightening cut in the top of the slide and one-piece guide rod. The barrel has a 1:10 twist.

Can you put a trijicon aim point type site on this pistol? If not, does Springfield make a pistol that will take those type sights

Carried the XDm .40 cal CCL for over five years and love it. As I’m retired now have carried the the XDs for the last few years in 9mm. Once again another outstanding hand gun from Springfield Armory. Will be looking at the XDm 5.25 as a replacement for my race gun.

  I wouldn’t knock it. I have a Sig and a SA and love them both but honestly the Sig is slicker, has a better trigger and is more accurate (in my hands). It was also substantially more expensive.

I really liked all the XDMs, .40 & .45 cal. that I’ve owned over the last 3 years. The Comp. versions were the most fun to shoot and the XDS 3.3″ .45 was a fine shooter that tried to bank right and climb with every 230 grain slug it spit out. Best of all… they all sold for more than they cost. Like most happy events in life, this was just a matter of fortunate timing because it allowed me to try S&Ws PC Shields of the same calibers but with porting and much better triggers. I’ve never bought more weapon for under 400 bucks, legitimately, in 60 years and these will be staying in the Family. They are too good to sell.

Good point, in fact it’s even MORE important to do the safety repetition on camera, is to instill the brain set on this fact. Safety, ALWAYS. It can never be said one too many times!!!

I have one of these, it is fantastic! I am an old 1911 pistol exert. (Military Police & Civilian law enforcement) This pistol is amazing! The striker fire system is top shelf and easy to shoot accurately under stress. I’ve fired the Sig’s, golck’s, HK’s and the other Springfield models including the new hammer pistol. they are all fine weapons. this XDM is the last pistol I will ever need.

Not to be very picky, but safety First. The magazine should have been released and the slide should have been opened to insure no round was chambered. Opening the box on camera does not prove anything. Safety First !

“improves accuracy and RELIABILITY”??? I own several Springfields XD, XDm & XDs), all in 45ACP. Absolutely ZERO hiccups in something over 10,000 rounds. Of course, all mags are Springfield factory. Gotta’ love ‘dem XD!!!
