Ruger’s Custom Shop has been steadily building momentum since opening a couple of years back and now offers a solid range of performance and competition rifles and handguns based on their commercial products.

Kicking off the new year Ruger has 8 Custom Shop Models with a few models for 2020 to show off, starting with the 9mm Super GP100 Competition Revolver.

The Super GP100 Competition Revolver is a full-size 8-shot revolver with a 6-inch barrel chambered for 9mm Luger. It uses moon clips for fast reloads with a short cylinder and extended barrel that shortens the freebore and lightens the cylinder for faster lock-up and lighter trigger pull in double-action.

It features a skeletonized barrel shroud, fully-adjustable target sights with a fiber optic front sight and full-size hardwood grips by Hogue. Each Custom Shop revolver leaves the factory with a completely hand-tuned action ready for competition out of the box.

The 9mm Super GP100 Competition Revolver is in production and shipping now with a suggested retail price of $1,549, the same as the 8-shot .357 Magnum option.

Ruger is also showing off their SR1911 Competition Pistols in .45 ACP and 10mm Auto. The Koenig series made its debut last year in 10mm and is now available in .45 ACP.

Both the .45 and 10mm pistols have checkered frontstraps and custom G10 grips for excellent control along with their checkered mainspring housings. They include magazine funnels and polished components inside and out.

These Custom Shop 1911 pistols are hand-fit as well, including hand-lapped slides, frames, and barrels for a very tight but smooth action. They are finished with match chambers and target crowns in addition to fire control parts built to Team Ruger Captain Doug Koenig’s specifications down to the flat trigger.

The SR1911 Competition Pistols are in the same class as other high-profile custom shop 1911s and are priced similarly with a suggested retail price of $2,299. Of course, real-world pricing is under $2,000.
