The new Rock Island Armory VRF14 is a 14” barreled 12 gauge that technically isn’t a shotgun. The VRF14 lacks a stock so it’s not a shotgun, but it is also not an NFA item, it’s just a firearm, so it can be purchased just like most firearms requiring no Federal Tax Stamp.
It has familiar AR15 type controls and is magazine-fed from either a 2, 5, 9, or 19 round magazine. The VRF14 comes with 2 five-round magazines and flip-up iron sights but has lots of Picatinny rail for mounting red dots or accessories. Firing the 12 gauge while just holding it in your hands is definitely a handful, but it was possible to hit the targets at the Big Daddy Unlimited Epic Shoot.
