Polymer80 Rolling Out Large-Frame Glock and Kidon Brace Adapter – SHOT Show 2019

Polymer80, the company that makes 80 percent pistol kits, is rolling out a new large-frame Glock-pattern kit for DIY gunsmiths. They are also introducing a new multi-platform pistol brace adapter that works with scores of handguns called the Kidon Pistol Conversion Kit.

The Kidon Pistol Conversion Kit isn’t the first of its kind but it does one thing better than any of its analogs – it works with all sorts of handguns (around 100 different models is what they’re claiming). The Kidon allows users to fix an AR pistol brace to their handgun and use it with rifle accessories. It can also use stocks with handguns registered as short-barreled rifles.

The Kidon has a 12-o’clock rail for optics and other accessories including iron sights with a large cutout for the ejection port. The forend of the kit adds removable 3-, 6- and 9-o’clock rails for grips, lights and pointers and it comes with flip-up backup sights and an angled foregrip.

The adapter is ambidextrous with a reversible charging handle to suit different shooting styles. It works by locking onto the pistol’s accessory rail and clamping into place at the rear with a modular

The list of Kidon-compatible pistols is nice and long and it includes most Glock pistols, a solid selection of CZ pistols, Jericho pistols with rails, P-series SIG pistols with rails, newer P320 pistols, Beretta 92-series pistols with rails, Px4 Storm pistols, Grand Power and Canik pistols and more, including select FN and Heckler & Koch pistols.

Of course, the adapter also works with Polymer80 kits and Polymer80 will soon have an adapter insert for their new large-frame kit.

The new large-frame PF45 kit is made for people looking to build their own custom Glock-compatible handguns chambered for .45 ACP and 10mm Auto. There are also plenty of wildcat and proprietary cartridges that use the large frames.

The PF45 brings all the same features the PF940 frame does including a straighter, more slender grip without fingergrooves. It is compatible with Glock Gen 3 components and comes with a polymer jig to build the frame into a firearm.

The kit also includes the drill bits and pins necessary to complete the frame as well as a stainless steel locking block and stainless rear rail assembly. The PF45 with the jig has a suggested retail price of $170 and is shipping now.

The Kidon has a $525 price tag and Polymer80 expects to start shipping in February.
