Noveske Rifleworks just unveiled their new Gen 4 upper and lower receivers for AR-pattern rifles. The company is launching the new parts with their latest Ghetto Blaster family of guns. Nostalgically named after boom boxes, Ghetto Blaster rifles are powerful and highly portable.
Noveske is kicking things off with two Ghetto Blasters, a standard carbine-size rifle and a short-barreled rifle. Initially the Ghetto Blaster will be chambered for 5.56 NATO but Noveske has plans for .300 AAC Blackout and pistol-caliber models in the future.
The upcoming .300 BLK model is designed to run suppressed and will be available for special order possibly as soon as the first quarter of 2018. If it looks familiar, that’s because the Gen 4 receivers used for Ghetto Blasters draw heavily from the original Honey Badger rifle.
The Honey Badger concept mates a short-barreled rifle upper with a small telescoping stock. The idea is to build a gun that fits in a PDW-sized package that offers carbine-level performance and suppresses easily.
Designed to work with a very compact stock assembly, even the full-size carbine is short and light. In the short-barreled configuration the Ghetto Blaster weighs just 5.25 pounds unloaded.

Both the carbine and PDW-sized rguns are top-flight rifles with premium components throughout. These are Noveske carbines, after all.
Each Ghetto Blaster comes with double-finished receivers for over-the-top durability. After the receivers are Type III hard-coat anodized Noveske puts a black Cerakote finish on them for added protection.
The modified receivers feature ambidextrous markings and controls, oversize integral trigger guards and generously flared magwells. The stock unlocks with a push button release at the rear of the lower receiver. The stock telescopes over the upper receiver when collapsed.
Both full-size and PDW-size Ghetto Blasters come with full-length handguards that run out to the muzzle device. They are free-floating handguards with 6- and 12-o’clock Picatinny rails and modular slots on the left and right sides. Noveske offers both KeyMod- and M-Lok-pattern rails as options.

Rounding things out the Ghetto Blasters come standard with Magpul Moe-K pistol grips, Pmag magazine and Pro MBUS iron sights and a Geissele SD-E trigger and Super Badass charging handle. Depending on the configuration, Ghetto Blaster rifles start at $2,070.
Still, the coolest part about this announcement is the introduction of the new receivers. While the Ghetto Blasters are very nice rifles with some of the best parts and accessories, people are going to want to build their own guns based on the Gen 4 receivers.
PDW-style receivers are the next thing for a lot of AR builders and this set is top notch. With features like these, the Noveske Gen 4 receiver set could set the standard for the compact and light crowd for a good long time.
