Springfield Armory has launched a new 15-round variant of the Echelon 9mm pistol, targeting markets with restricted magazine capacities. This latest model of the Echelon series maintains the series’ high standards for modern, striker-fired sidearms and is designed to be duty-ready.
The centerpiece of the Echelon is its patent-pending Central Operating Group, a self-contained and serialized stainless steel chassis. This modular system, created using advanced manufacturing techniques, allows for quick and easy exchanges between different grip modules.
The pistol’s adaptability is a key feature, with the chassis compatible with any Echelon grip module. This enables users to customize the fit to their preference. The standard package includes a medium grip size and three interchangeable backstraps, with additional small and large grip modules available for purchase.

Another highlight of the Echelon is the Variable Interface System, also pending patent approval. It features self-locking pins that apply lateral pressure to the optic’s mounting surface to maintain a consistent point of aim/point of impact. The system can accommodate over 30 popular optic models, providing a wide range of direct-mount options.
Available with either U-Dot tritium/luminescent sights or three-dot tritium sights, the 15-round Echelon boasts a hammer-forged 4.5” barrel for precise accuracy. It comes with two durable 15-round magazines, which have a protective black coating resistant to scratches and wear.
Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing at Springfield Armory, asserts that the Echelon represents the pinnacle of striker-fired pistol technology, and the new 15-round model extends its availability to a wider audience.
The Echelon is priced at $679 for the U-Dot variant and $719 for the three-dot tritium version. This pistol promises ergonomic superiority and the ability to endure extreme conditions.
