At SHOT Show 2018 was not the first time I have seen the M+M industries M10x International Defense Rifle, but it was worth stopping by. The M10x is a completely new design, and it is certainly unique. To my eye, it looks like a SCAR, AK, and AR got tossed in a blender, and the strong points of each survived to make a new beast.

The core of the rifle is all Kalashnikov, which is reflected in the 7.62×39 chambering. It feeds off AK mags and runs a similar piston-action system. However, this model casts aside most of the weakness of the peasant’s rifle. The controls are AR familiar, with a trigger pull that is far better than any AK.

Impressions & Pricing
There is a full-length Picatinny rail on top, and the handguard is M-LOK. Takedown is similar to an AR with a hinge pin in the front. The charging handle is reversible in seconds, using no tools. The furniture is Magpul, which is an out of the box excellent choice. The gas system is adjustable, making this rifle suppressor ready on day one.
I have yet to see on in the wild, but hopefully, that changes soon. I hear good things about accuracy, but that is something we will need to see in person. Overall, this rifle has a ton of potential. They are said to be in production as we speak, so look forward to a full review coming soon. They have a suggested retail price of $1,499.
