Building off a very successful first year, AMTAC launched 2018 with the MANTIS series of suppressors. The MANTIS series is composed of four suppressors. All of them feature AMTAC’s mono-core system and three feature AMTAC’s signature over-barrel design. MANTIS suppressors directly thread to a barrel and are rated for Magnum calibers. Regarding price, MANTIS suppressors start at $799. Let’s take a quick look at the various models that make up the MANTIS lineup.

Impressions

All of the MANTIS lines is available in black, grey or flat dark earth. Since I primarily shoot precision rifle, I am a big fan of direct-thread suppressors. I have found direct-thread suppressors to be more consistent and accurate. Another feature to appreciate is the AMTAC over-the-barrel design.

During a press junket, I toured the AMTAC facilities last year. Their facility was state of the art, and in the middle of their production floor was a large lab devoted to quality control testing. That speaks volumes about the company. AMTAC’s parent company has been in business for 35 years and is deeply rooted in the Aerospace, Defense, and medical industries. In an Industry where suppressor companies are laying off staff or dealing with internal turmoil, it is nice to see to a suppressor company on the rise.
