ATI’s 9mm Adapter for 5.56/.223 lower receivers.
At SHOT 2018, American Tactical released this cool new mag-well adapter that makes standard AR 5.56/.223 lowers 9mm compatible with zero gunsmithing required.
Simply place the adapter into your AR-15 magazine well, pop in a standard, double-stack Glock magazine and you’re lower is good to go. As the sales pitch reads, “Just plug and play.”

It is made of 6061-T6 Aluminum.
I only got to fondle the unit for but a minute. But it seemed pretty sturdy. The magazine locked into place with no fuss and no play. The adapter is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum. Built in the good old USA. Summerville, SC, to be exact.
Operationally, the adapter has a built-in mag release. Swapping out mags is quick and easy. The unit also has a feature that allows the user to hold the bolt open after the last round is discharged.
If everything is as good as advertised, it would appear that converting to 9mm has never been so easy. Well, you’ll still have to swap out the upper components. But in terms of your lower, this is a piece of cake.
