At NRA 2023, we got a chance to catch up with IWI US. Specifically, we got our hands on the CARMEL rifle.
This new semiautomatic rifle features a short-stroke gas piston system and a locking, rotating bolt system for maximum safety. Made from superior steel, aviation-grade aluminum, and high-strength impact-modified polymer, the IWI US CARMEL is designed for outstanding performance in all environmental conditions.
The CARMEL rifle is fully ambidextrous, making it easily customizable with MLOK rails at the 3, 6, and 9 positions for compatibility with various accessories. It also has a 2-position gas regulator, allowing the user to switch between regular and suppressor mode. The rifle’s cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floating barrel enhances accuracy and prolongs the life cycle of the weapon.

One of the key advantages of the CARMEL rifle is its ergonomic design, optimized for maximum comfort and ease of use. The side folding stock has a variable length of pull and comb height, allowing the weapon to be fired with a folded stock. The safety lever, magazine release, bolt catch, and non-reciprocating charging handle are all fully ambidextrous, making it easy to operate for left and right-handed shooters. The enlarged trigger guard also allows for easier access for glove use.
