Israel Weapon Industries and IWI-US are happy to announce a new entry in the Masada series, the Masada Slim. The Masada Slim is a micro-compact, the newest and one of the fastest-growing segments in the everyday carry market.

The Masada Slim walks the line between sub-compact and single-stack pistol and has a solid 13+1-round capacity in 9mm Luger. The narrow magazines make for a slender frame that still offers enough length for a four-finger grip.

Like the full-size Masada, the Masada Slim is a polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol, with a steel slide and stainless steel barrel. One departure from the more duty-oriented version is that the Masada Slim uses a modular trigger assembly that can be pulled entirely out of the frame for ease of maintenance.

It has a 3.4-inch barrel and slide, and the slide has forward and rear slide serrations. The Masada Slim is also an optics-ready pistol, machined to accommodate RMS Shield-pattern micro red dot sights, including popular Holosun and SIG Sauer red dot sights.

Additionally, the Masada Slim has raised 3-dot iron sights to better co-witness with red dots. While they’re not quite as tall as suppressor sights, they will work with flatter red dot sights without being so tall that they will make drawing and holstering troublesome.

It has straightforward, albeit right-handed controls, with a blade-style passive trigger safety. It weighs just under 21 ounces unloaded and a couple of ounces more with a steel-bodied magazine inserted.

Two noteworthy features that are missing from the Masada Slim are an accessory rail on the frame and interchangeable grip inserts or backstraps. It’s possible that IWI has plans for future grip modules in different sizes, with different features, but for now, the simple grip module design does keep the price competitive.

IWI-US offers the Masada Slim with two 13-round or two 10-round magazines at a very approachable $450 suggested price point. For more information head over to IWI-US today.
