Let me just get this out of the way, I love M1 Carbines. I have a thing for old military weapons and the little-carbine-that-could is very close to the top of my all time favorite list. It is light, compact, fast and packs about the same power as a .357. Is it a long range gun? or is it a sub gun? No, and it never claimed to be either of those.
But this is not an article about what the M1 Carbine is or isn’t. Inland Manufacturing is now shipping their new M1 Carbines and they have some exciting new models that fit a lot of bills.
The Inland Advisor.
So Inland is making some very basic, GI-issue-style carbines. They have full-stocked ones with or without the bayonet lug/band and a folding stock Paratrooper style one as well. But they are also making some others.
The “Advisor” model is a pistol version of the M1 Carbine and was a stand out at SHOT Show. The Advisor name comes from the use of cut down carbines by some of the US advisors to the South Vietnamese during the Vietnam war. The Advisor sports a 12″ barrel, paratrooper stock with the wire folding piece removed and a conical flash hider. One of the ideas is that you can buy the pistol, get a stamp then put the separately sold wire stock on it to have an SBR.
The Advisor has an MSRP of $1,239 and will be shipping in March.

But carbines are not the only thing that Inland is working on. They are making a slick looking version of the M37 Trench Gun too. This is built off of a newly manufactured Ithaca receiver. It sports a 20″ barrel, 3″ inch 12 gauge chamber, metal heat shield and bayonet lug.
Inland will offer a reproduction bayonet for the M37 at some point in the near future. This Ithaca will not slam fire but we were told that parts to make it have that function, like the originals did, will be available too. Speaking of being available, we’re awaiting word on when the Ithaca M37 will hit the market, as well as how much this historical scattergun will cost.
