Hodgdon Buys Military Powder Orders To Meet Clays Demand, New IMR RIfle Powder – SHOT Show 2016

in Jon Hodoway, SHOT Show 2016

The big news this year from Hodgdon is there new line of rifle powder. IMR 4955, it is part of their Enduron line of powders and fits between 4451 IMR –7977 IMR . The burn rate is something close to the 4831 this means that it will work well from the 25-06 up to the 300 Winchester Magnum. It is primarily designed for medium to big rifle cases. This is due to its density as it is an extruded stick powder that fills these cases very nicely. This powder also features the copper fouling eliminator that is a must-have in today’s reloading environment.

Powders will be available, so buy in bulk.

One of my favorite things about the Enduron powders is they are not temperature sensitive; they function well from below zero to over 100°. This powder is also environmentally friendly with no environmentally damaging chemicals. Load data is available on their website https://www.imrpowder.com/. This new powder will be available in the spring of 2016.

Unless you’re brand-new to reloading, you’re aware of how difficult it has been to find components over the last few years. Well I’ve got great news for shotgun and handgun reloaders. Hodgdon is reintroducing the Clay’s line of powder. They don’t have a new powder but what they have is even better. I’m told that the volumes they have committed to buy has allowed them to virtually guarantee availability in 2016.

The variety of powders can be daunting, but load data is available on Hodgdon's site, which eliminates confusion.

As if that was not enough, they will be reducing the price on all three of the Clays powders. So whether your choice is Clays, Clays International or Clays Universal, availability and price should no longer prevent you from making Clays your first choice. Load data for Clays is available on their website https://www.hodgdon.com/basic-manual-inquiry.html

I would encourage you check out all of the other fine powders these people make they have a powder to suit almost any reloading need whether it is black powder, handguns, rifles or shotguns. You can easily browse their website:https://www.hodgdon.com/index.html
