The government may just have a new mule.
M.U.L.E. Tactical was at SHOT Show this year showing a very interesting AR stock. It is called the Adaptive Storage Stock. Simply put, it is a stock you can put a handgun in.
The Mule is a bit big, but then it has to be to do what it does. The hinge is spring loaded and opens strongly when the release button is pressed. They make a few different holsters for the inside that will hold 17 different handguns, and they are working on adding more.
We made a comment about the butt pad shape–some shooters want less concave so a stock rides flat across their pectoral. We were told that flat ones are in the works along with different pads for adjusting length of pull.
The owner of the company was in the booth and said there are 8,000 of the stock/holsters currently in production and that once everything is set up they will be able to produce about that many each week. They might need that amount of production; they have been approached by the several government agencies and other law enforcement groups. They are also planning on producing a magazine holder to mount on a handguard.
Other colors of the Mule are also in the works along with a mini mule for compact pistols.
The MSRP will be around $250 $175(We had in our notes that the price was $250, but an email from the MULE said it is $175). Does is kick like a Mule? Not sure. We’ll let you know when we shoot one.
