President Joe Biden gave a speech at the Safer Communities Summit at the University of Hartford, Connecticut, this past Friday.
He lauded the Bipartisan Safers Community Act, which he signed into law last June.
Focusing on the new gun control law, Biden emphasized its key provisions.
These include stricter background checks for adults under 21, funding for red flag laws, enhancements for school safety, support for mental health services, and community violence intervention initiatives.
Additionally, the law imposes tighter restrictions on firearm possession by domestic abusers and ramps up penalties for gun traffickers.

However, Biden insisted that further action is needed.
He pledged, “We will ban assault weapons in this country. We will ban multi-round magazines. We will hold gunmakers liable. We will beat the gun industry. We will beat big money that sits behind them and the politicians who refuse to stand up and act.

“It won’t be easy,” he continued. “I have no illusions how fiercely they’ll fight back, but I also have no illusions about the people in this room.”
Biden ended things on a rather bizarre note.
He finished by saying, “All right? God save the Queen, man.”
